Bilbao Airport Taxi at Christmas, no holiday surcharge
Christmas and New Year are the busiest travel dates of the year: flights to reunite with family, getaways, tourists arriving to experience the Basque Christmas and the mass return after the holidays. Between mid-December and early January, Bilbao Airport (BIO) hits one of its annual peaks.
Our solution: a fixed, closed price from the start. While the traditional meter applies special tariffs at Christmas, New Year's Eve and public holidays, with us the price is the same as any other day. No holiday surcharge, no night surcharge, no surprises — even if your flight is at 5:00 AM on New Year's Day.
We operate 24 hours, 365 days a year, including 25 December, 1 January and every public holiday. And if you give us your flight number, we track it in real time: even if bad winter weather delays your plane, the driver will be waiting.
Regional coverage: not just Bilbao. At Christmas we take you to and from the airport from San Sebastián, Biarritz, Saint-Jean-de-Luz, Cantabria, Vitoria and La Rioja, all at the same closed price with no holiday surcharge.

Transport guide — Christmas & New Year
Everything you need to know to get to and from the airport over the holidays
Family flights with gifts
At Christmas you travel loaded: suitcases, gifts and often with children or grandparents. Luggage and gifts included at no extra cost, baby seats available and a van for up to 7 people for large families. We pick you up at home so you don't carry things through the streets in winter.
Flight tracking in bad weather
Winter brings fog, rain and delays, and Christmas packs in many flights. Give us your flight number and we adjust the pick-up to the plane's actual arrival. Even if your flight is delayed, the driver will wait at no extra cost.
New Year's Eve, New Year & Three Kings
On New Year's Eve and Three Kings, public transport runs less often and there are road closures for the parades. The taxi with a fixed price and no night surcharge takes you to the airport or between towns when getting around is hardest. Book the early hours of 1 January in advance.
Christmas in the Basque Country and the north
Northern Spain lives Christmas with a special charm. In Bilbao, the Bilbao Gabonak programme fills the city with lights, the Christmas market in Doña Casilda Park and the Arenal, the traditional Santo Tomás fair (21 December) and the Olentzero, the Basque charcoal-maker who tours the centre on the afternoon of 23 December handing out gifts.
An hour away, San Sebastián / Donostia adds its coastal elegance; and across the border, Biarritz and Saint-Jean-de-Luz hold their French Christmas markets (marchés de Noël) facing the Atlantic. The whole region — Cantabria, La Rioja, Álava — lights up in December, and Bilbao Airport (BIO) is the air gateway to experience it.
The season starts in December and peaks with Christmas Eve (24), New Year's Eve (31), New Year (1 January) and the Three Kings Parade (5 January). These are the busiest transfer dates of the year, which makes airport access a challenge. Our taxi service with a fixed price, advance booking and no holiday surcharge solves exactly that problem, year after year.
